Tell us what is stopping you getting in
Start with whether the door is simply closed, locked with a key, or jammed. Mention a key left inside, a snapped key, or a handle that no longer moves normally. If there are two locks, explain which one is causing trouble. You do not need to know the make: describe what happened immediately before the problem.
Opening the door and securing it afterwards
The condition of the lock determines the available entry options. Ask whether opening without replacement is possible and what would change that assessment. A damaged mechanism may still need attention after access is restored. If your keys are missing, discuss whether the affected lock should also be changed; getting inside and controlling future access are separate decisions.
Arrange access and understand the quote
Give the full address, flat number and a phone number where you can be reached. Mention any shared entrance and have the person authorised to approve work available. Before booking, ask about attendance, labour, possible replacement parts and any time-related charges. Confirm the current arrival estimate on the call rather than relying on a fixed travel-time promise.
