Decide what needs changing
A euro cylinder, a rim cylinder and a complete mortice lock are different replacement jobs. The existing hardware and its condition determine the appropriate option. A stiff key does not establish that the whole lock has failed. Describe any catching, loose handles or difficulty closing the door so the underlying problem is considered alongside the replacement.
Plan the keys as well as the lock
For a move or an authorised tenancy handover, list the doors you control and the people who need keys afterwards. Keep communal entrance arrangements separate from your private door. If an existing key operates several locks, mention that before choosing a replacement; changing one component may affect how convenient the current arrangement is to use.
Specify the job before booking
Call 020 3670 6608 with your postcode, door material and any visible lock name. Explain whether preserving the existing handles or finish matters. Ask what the quote includes, how many keys accompany the proposed lock and whether any additional fitting work is needed. Bring any written lock specification you have rather than assuming every replacement meets it.
